Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Blanchester

Blanchester hadn't done well against Georgetown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the G-Men. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Reece Ledford made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Ledford was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Blanchester got a massive performance out of Riley Binkley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Binkley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bailie Bare, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Blanchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Blanchester's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Georgetown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Coming up, Blanchester will square off against Shawnee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Georgetown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
