Football Game Preview: Narrows Green Waves vs. George Wythe Maroons

The Narrows Green Waves will welcome the George Wythe Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Narrows is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Narrows is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Bath County 48-7 on Friday. Considering the Green Waves have won four contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Narrows had a senior duo take command as Tucker Bryan rushed for 109 yards and one score and Cooper Helvey gained 107 total yards and four touchdowns. Those 109 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Bryan. Elijah Knoetze made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Narrows was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. They are 5-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, George Wythe played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Giles 53-20. The Maroons were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

George Wythe's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Narrows, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
