Recap: Hubbard Jaguars vs. Dawson Bulldogs
The Hubbard Jaguars suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Dawson, falling 46-16. Hubbard has not had much luck with Dawson recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Leading Dawson to victory were Callie Marberry and Laura Ruiz. Marberry scored ten points along with six steals, while Ruiz scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ruiz has scored all season. Joselynn Wilson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Hubbard has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Dawson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Hubbard will head out on the road to square off against Marlin at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hubbard in Texas (Marlin is ranked 248th, while Hubbard is ranked 1254th). As for Dawson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Axtell at 6:00 p.m. Axtell comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
