Softball Recap: South Albany's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but South Albany ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Corvallis Spartans by a score of 20-16. The game was the first time the Redhawks have beaten the Spartans on their field since April 12, 2019.

South Albany let Emily Tschida and Maddie Angel run wild. Tschida went 4-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple, while Angel went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and five runs. With that strong performance, Angel is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Alicia Martindale, who went 1-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Albany was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .489. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
