Softball Recap: Catholic Central Wins Going Away Against Jefferson County Christian

Catholic Central's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Jefferson County Christian Royals as they made off with an 18-8 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Crusaders considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Gianna Lemal was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Miriam Free was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Catholic Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Catholic Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Jefferson County Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
