Soccer Recap: Kearny Takes a Loss

Kearny entered their matchup against Hoover on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Kearny Komets fell just short of the Hoover Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Komets came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Cardinals are ranked 648th).

Kearny suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-2-3. As for Hoover, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8-6.

Kearny will head out to square off against University City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kearny's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Hoover has already played their next matchup (against Mission Bay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
