Basketball Recap: Jesup Comes Up Short

Jesup was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 65-42 to the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons. The J-Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in January of 2025.

Jesup's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Jesup and Aplington-Parkersburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. The J-Hawks (ranked 291st) will meet Grundy Center (ranked 25th) at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Aplington-Parkersburg will challenge Wapsie Valley at 7:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (91 vs. 24).
