Softball Recap: Del Sol Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Del Sol won the last time they faced The Meadows School and things went their way on Monday too. The Del Sol Dragons put the hurt on The Meadows School Mustangs with a sharp 12-4 victory. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Adaya Lash was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Lash was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sunshine Rivera, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cainell (Nelly) McNary, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Del Sol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Meadows School only posted an OBP of .323.

Del Sol's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for The Meadows School, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Sol will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for The Meadows School, they will square off against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
