Westlake faced American Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Thunder put the hurt on the Cavemen with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Thunder as they're now sitting on six straight.

One reason for the win was Westlake's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 25-14.

Talon Schank was the offensive standout of the match as he had 16 digs and one assist. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

Westlake pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for American Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Westlake will square off against Lehi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Fork, they will challenge Lone Peak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavemen are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
