After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnston City, Murphysboro was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Herrin Tigers 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Devils have posted since March 18th.
Macey Alexander was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kylie Powell was another key player, going 4-for-6 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Murphysboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Murphysboro moved to 5-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Herrin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.
