Soccer Game Preview: Carter vs. Grand Terrace

The Carter Lions will challenge the Grand Terrace Titans at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Carter's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

If Grand Terrace heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Carter took over last week. Carter had just enough and edged Rialto out 3-2. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one goal.

Grace Baeza and Alexa White scored all three of Carter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, Grand Terrace kept a clean sheet against Colton on Monday. They beat the Yellowjackets by a goal, winning 1-0. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carter pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six contests. As for Grand Terrace, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.
