Basketball Recap: East Poinsett County Warriors vs. Rector Cougars
The East Poinsett County Warriors were the 55-51 winner over the Rector Cougars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. East Poinsett County was the victim of a rough 54-29 loss at the hands of the Cougars on Wednesday. East Poinsett County's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, East Poinsett County had strong showings from Kyla Harston, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four blocks, and Keandria Johnson, who scored six points along with six steals.
East Poinsett County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Rector, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-10.
