Basketball Recap: Ashland Takes a Loss

Ashland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Ladysmith Lumberjacks and fell 64-27. While losing is never fun, the Oredockers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 218th).

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Ladysmith, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Ashland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-26 loss against Cumberland on the 25th. As for Ladysmith, they will square off against Spooner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ladysmith is facing Spooner at the right time seeing as Spooner is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
