Soccer Recap: Clare Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Clare was not quite Ovid-Elsie's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Clare can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Ovid-Elsie are ranked 123rd).

Clare's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8. As for Ovid-Elsie, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clare will challenge Pinconning at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ovid-Elsie, they will face off against Lakeville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
