Baseball Game Preview: Coral Springs Colts vs. Neumann Celtics

The Coral Springs Colts will head out to square off against the Neumann Celtics at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Coral Springs fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against American Heritage on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 9-8.

Aiden Roy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryan Guthrie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Ruben Zuany was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Neumann fell victim to Cardinal Gibbons and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs.

Coral Springs has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Neumann, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
