Soccer Recap: Gardner Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Gardner duked it out with Ayer Shirley on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Gardner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Ayer Shirley are ranked 33rd).

Gardner's loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1. As for Ayer Shirley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gardner will host Mahar Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ayer Shirley, they will challenge Clinton at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
