Basketball Recap: Crestmont Christian Prep's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of three wins, Crestmont Christian Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 59-43 fall against Varsity Opponent. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Varsity Opponent earlier this season, when they won 43-23.

Despite the loss, Crestmont Christian Prep saw an underclassman step up: freshman Luke Oliver dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Oliver has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Peyton Blyth, who posted eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Crestmont Christian Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Crestmont Christian Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Crestmont Christian Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-21 win against Non Varsity Opponent on the 17th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next contest, a 75-39 loss against Heartland Christian on the 14th.
