Baseball Recap: Rolling Hills Prep Comes Up Short

The Rolling Hills Prep Huskies lost 12-3 to the Serra Cavaliers on Wednesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matthew Moyer put in work no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off only two hits. Moyer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Moyer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake Levin, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Levin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was Dylan Reasor, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Rolling Hills Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Serra, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Rolling Hills Prep will challenge Harbor Teacher at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Serra, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Paraclete on the 28th.
