Philipsburg-Osceola and Bellefonte are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mountaineers will square off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Philipsburg-Osceola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Philipsburg-Osceola came up short against Huntingdon and fell 8-3. The matchup marked the Mountaineers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Philipsburg-Osceola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Lamb, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another was Sam McDonald, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Bellefonte earned a 5-1 victory over State College on Friday.

Triston Heeman tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, Peyton Vancas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Evan Mattern also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bellefonte now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Philipsburg-Osceola couldn't quite finish off Bellefonte when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Mountaineers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
