After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vestavia Hills, Prattville was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Houston Mustangs. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.
Prattville's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paxton Genola, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Sean Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Prattville's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13. As for Houston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
Prattville will head out to challenge Thompson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Thompson's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Prattville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Houston, they will take on Briarwood Christian at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
