The Bonita Springs Bullsharks are taking a road trip to face off against the South Fort Myers Wolfpack at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonita Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Bonita Springs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Gulf Coast on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 2-1. The Bullsharks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jhon Rodriguez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bonita Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Hernandez Jr, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Fort Myers). Everything went their way against Dunbar on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-0 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wolfpack with their most commanding win of the season.

South Fort Myers got a big performance out of Juan Angeles, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Angeles is becoming a predictor of the Wolfpack's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dominic Gill, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

South Fort Myers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

South Fort Myers' victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Bonita Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

Bonita Springs was able to grind out a solid win over South Fort Myers when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bullsharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
