Baseball Recap: Ovid-Elsie Marauders vs. Owosso Trojans

Ovid-Elsie extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-13 in the process. They fell 8-4 to the Owosso Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in April.

As for Owosso, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Owosso's part, Blake Binger tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Binger has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eden Ackley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cyril Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Ovid-Elsie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Owosso, they will face off against New Lothrop at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
