Soccer Game Preview: Jasper vs. Corrigan-Camden

The Jasper Bulldogs will square off against the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Jasper prevailed. They won by a goal and slipped past San Augustine 3-2. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Wolves are ranked 652nd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Corrigan-Camden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Diboll, falling 3-0.

Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Corrigan-Camden, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Jasper skirted past Corrigan-Camden 2-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jasper since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
