Football Game Preview: Tuscaloosa Academy Knights vs. Lamar County Bulldogs

The Tuscaloosa Academy Knights will venture away from home to take on the Lamar County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tuscaloosa Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Lamar County will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Tuscaloosa Academy didn't have too much trouble with Vincent as they won 30-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Mark Norris was his usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 230 yards on 19 of 27 attempts.

Tuscaloosa Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out Lane Mims five times. Leading the way was Cam Franklin with three sacks. Another thorn in Vincent's side was Hudson Powell, who made four total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Meanwhile, Lamar County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Sulligent and fell 40-8. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Lamar County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Tuscaloosa Academy against Lamar County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 35-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
