Basketball Recap: Shawe Memorial Takes a Loss

Shawe Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Hauser Jets, falling 78-29. The Hilltoppers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-8.

Collin Buck was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards for Hauser. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Keller, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Shawe Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Hauser, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawe Memorial will face off against Carroll County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hauser, they will head out to face off against Waldron at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hauser is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.2 points per game this season.
