Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep Comes Up Short

The Hackett Catholic Prep Fighting Irish didn't have quite enough to beat the Marcellus Wildcats on Tuesday and fell 6-4.

Paige Zeigler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and one run.

Hackett Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Marcellus, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Coming up, Hackett Catholic Prep will venture away from home to face off against Climax-Scotts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Irish's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Marcellus, they will face off against Howardsville Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.42 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
