Softball Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Juanita Ravens
Roosevelt is 1-7 against Juanita since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Roughriders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ravens at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Roosevelt didn't have quite enough to beat Ballard and fell 5-4.
Meanwhile, Juanita was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake Washington. Ravens fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Kangaroos since on Friday.
Elliott Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits.
On the hitting side, Keeley Cohen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Gwyn Reynolds was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
Juanita's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
