Recap: Summit Tigers vs. Basalt Longhorns

In what's become a running theme this season, the Summit Tigers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Basalt 62-20 on the road. With Summit ahead 40-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Kenya Rodriguez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kayla Smith was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.

Summit is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Basalt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-18.

Summit will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Battle Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for Basalt, they and Steamboat Springs will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Steamboat Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Friday.
