Softball Recap: South Aiken Thoroughbreds vs. Irmo Yellow Jackets

After flying high against Brookland-Cayce last Wednesday, South Aiken came back down to earth. The South Aiken Thoroughbreds fell just short of the Irmo Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.

Addison Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, South Aiken saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kam Staley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Adaline Allen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double.
