Basketball Recap: Fennville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Watervliet last Friday, Fennville came back down to earth. The Fennville Blackhawks had to suffer through a 55-20 loss at the hands of the Saugatuck Trailblazers. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 72nd).

Fennville dropped their record down to 8-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Saugatuck, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

Coming up, Fennville will square off against Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saugatuck, they will face off against Norrix at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saugatuck knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Norrix likes a good challenge.
