Somerset waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Pearsall Mavericks 65-47. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mavericks, too.

Pearsall lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Marcus Woodard, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Rodriguez, who scored 15 points and five rebounds.

Somerset has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Pearsall, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-7.

Coincidentally, Somerset and Pearsall will both be playing Floresville the next time they take the court. Somerset will host Floresville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pearsall will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
