Baseball Recap: Pottsboro Wins Going Away Against S & S Consolidated

Pottsboro never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the S & S Consolidated Rams as the Pottsboro Cardinals made off with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Matthew McCullough made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Pottsboro got a massive performance out of Michael Ermon, who scored a run and stole Five bases. while going 3-for-3. Those stolen bases were Ermon's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Humphreys, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Pottsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Pottsboro's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for S & S Consolidated, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
