Elkhorn Valley hasn't had much luck against Stanton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Elkhorn Valley was handed a 43-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, sneaking past 34-31.

Elkhorn Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Logan Black, who picked up 160 receiving yards and three scores, and Jarett Werner, who threw for 203 yards and four TDs. Black showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Stanton on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Lutheran-Northeast out of the water with a 70-12 final score. Considering the Mustangs' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Elkhorn Valley better focus on containing Royce Hansen and Hunter Robinette as the pair were huge in Stanton's win. Hansen rushed for 180 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while Robinette rushed for 144 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Those 144 rushing yards gave Robinette a new career-high. Stanton also got help from Josh Arens, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Stanton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Elkhorn Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Elkhorn Valley took a serious blow against Stanton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 76-24. Thankfully for the Falcons, Barrett Wilke (who rushed for 310 yards and three scores while picking up 17.2 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
