Baseball Game Preview: South Gwinnett Comets vs. Grayson Rams

South Gwinnett is 0-10 against Grayson since March of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The South Gwinnett Comets will square off against the Grayson Rams at 7:00 p.m.

South Gwinnett is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Wednesday. They fell 9-4 to Grayson.

For Grayson's part, Shane Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Landon Arroyos was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Alex Espinoza, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win (which was Grayson's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for South Gwinnett, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
