After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Newton, Jasper was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lakeland Vikings as they made off with a 15-3 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Storm was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Storm was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emersyn Bass, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Addie Atnip was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Jasper is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.
