Baseball Recap: Centennial Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Centennial came out on top against East on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Stars put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Stars have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Centennial got a massive performance out of Jayden Hammond, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The Stars are 4-1 when Hammond posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Gavin White was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Centennial pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will square off against Mifflin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East, they will challenge Ponitz Career Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
