Softball Preview: Huss Huskies vs. Crest Chargers
Huss hasn't had much luck against Crest recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Huss Huskies will welcome the Crest Chargers at 5:30 p.m.
After dropping their season opener at home, Crest is headed out to face a Huskies team ready to give their home crowd a win. Huss lost 24-9 to Stuart W. Cramer on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Crest had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Aidan Ledbetter, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep South Point off the board. Those 11 strikeouts gave Ledbetter a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Allie Summer, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Crocker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Huss suffered a grim 23-0 defeat to Crest in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Huss avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
