Excel Christian Academy piles up the points against Zephyrhills Christian Academy

The Excel Christian Academy Spartans can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Zephyrhills Christian Academy 65-20 at home. Given Excel Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Zephyrhills Christian Academy is ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Excel Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Soleil DeJesus, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists. DeJesus has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anyla Parker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds.

Excel Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Excel Christian Academy and Haines City will face off at 5:30 a.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Haines City is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.5 points per game. Zephyrhills Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
