Baseball Game Preview: East Beauregard Trojans vs. Plainview Hornets

The East Beauregard Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Plainview Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. East Beauregard has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 13.

East Beauregard fell victim to Leesville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 21-0 to the Wampus Cats.

Meanwhile, Plainview fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Reeves on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-6. The Hornets have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Tanner Doyle was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

East Beauregard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Plainview, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

East Beauregard took their win against Plainview when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 20-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
