Softball Recap: Riverside Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Riverside Prep entered their tilt with Victor Valley on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Jackrabbits. The result was nothing new for the Silver Knights, who have now won five matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Sadie Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Bree Garcia was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Bustos, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Riverside Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Riverside Prep's record is now 7-8. As for Victor Valley, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Coming up, Riverside Prep will venture away from home to square off against Academy for Academic Excellence at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silver Knights will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Victor Valley, they will be playing at home against Serrano at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
