Basketball Recap: Memorial's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Memorial fought the good fight in their overtime game against Byron Nelson on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Byron Nelson Bobcat 66-61. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Bobcat are ranked 246th).

With the defeat, Memorial broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6. As for Byron Nelson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-8.

Memorial will face off against Emerson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Emerson likes a good challenge. As for Byron Nelson, they will square off against Bell at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
