Baseball Game Preview: Mountainburg Dragons vs. Ozark Catholic Academy Griffins

The Mountainburg Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Ozark Catholic Academy Griffins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mountainburg's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups.

Ozark Catholic Academy's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Mountainburg hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Cedarville on Monday. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Levi Cowett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Cowett was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Kelton Jones was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Ryan Allen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Ozark Catholic Academy fell victim to Cotter and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountainburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Ozark Catholic Academy, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
