Baseball Recap: Fox Valley Lutheran Takes a Loss

Fox Valley Lutheran had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 13-9 to make it five. They fell 8-3 to the Marinette Marines. That's two games in a row now that the Foxes have lost by exactly five runs.

Jack Schlueter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Marinette, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.25 runs across that stretch.

On Marinette's side, Justin Kruse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Maveric Williamson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Chase MacGregor was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

While Fox Valley Lutheran had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
