Basketball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Mechanicsburg Indians

The Grove City Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Mechanicsburg Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Grove City Christian took on Horizon Science Academy on Thursday. Grove City Christian fell just short of Horizon Science Academy by a score of 55-53.

Despite the loss, Grove City Christian had strong showings from Jadunn Harris, who went 11-for-21 on his way to 26 points and eight boards, and Landon Brunicardi, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Harris a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Harmeyer, who earned seven points and six assists.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mechanicsburg). They really took it to Triad for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-41 win. The Indians have beaten the Cardinals the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.

Mechanicsburg's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Grove City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
