Softball Recap: Clinton Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Clinton nor Plymouth Christian Academy made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Redwolves came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redwolves.

Ashlynn Benschoter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Annabell Preston, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Calli Kruger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Clinton's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9.

Clinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 win against Madison on the 13th. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, they will host Detroit Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
