Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Prep Takes a Loss

Rocky Mount Prep played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Northwest Halifax Vikings and fell 54-23. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.

Rocky Mount Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mykhalah Lynch, who posted four points along with 13 boards and three blocks. Lynch is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Jada Silver was another key player, putting up nine points along with six boards and three steals.

Keyara Rook was her usual excellent self, posting 30 points for Northwest Halifax. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatyanna Mcgee, who had 12 points.

Rocky Mount Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Northwest Halifax, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Rocky Mount Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-0 win against KIPP P on the 7th. As for Northwest Halifax, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-22 defeat against Garner on the 4th.
