Basketball Recap: Dirigo Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Dirigo Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Valley Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Cavaliers are ranked 18th).

This is the second loss in a row for Dirigo and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.

Dirigo will be playing in front of their home fans against Spruce Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will challenge Vinalhaven at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
