Football Recap: California City Takes a Loss

California City extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Viewpoint Patriots, falling 47-6. The Ravens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Diego Ruiz threw for 29 yards and one TD. On the ground, Kevin Hightower rushed for 42 yards.

As for Viewpoint, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Viewpoint to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Burkin, who rushed for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Darnell Berry was in the mix too, providing the Patriots with two scores.

Looking ahead, California City will host Silver Valley at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Viewpoint, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-22 win against Hawkins on the 19th.
