Preview: Oakcrest Chargers vs. Madeira Snails
After two games on the road, Oakcrest is heading back home. They will take on the Madeira Snails at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Oakcrest was not quite the Wolves' equal in the second half on Monday. Oakcrest took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves.
Meanwhile, Madeira's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Episcopal 56-29. While losing is never fun, Madeira can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Maroon are ranked 22nd).
Oakcrest now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Madeira, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
