Softball Game Preview: Pendleton Heights Arabians vs. New Palestine Dragons

Pendleton Heights hasn't had much luck against New Palestine recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Arabians will be playing at home against the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. Pendleton Heights is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Greenfield-Central hit Pendleton Heights with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Arabians fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Arabians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Fisher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Fox, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, New Palestine's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 10-4 to Fishers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Dragons, who until this game were averaging 1.95 runs allowed.

Maddie Engle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Dye, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

New Palestine's loss dropped their record down to 19-2. As for Pendleton Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Pendleton Heights has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like New Palestine struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
